William P. Smith III, 61 years old, and a resident of Fall River for his entire life, died at home in Fall River on March 30th, 2023. Billy Smith was born in Fall River and is the son of Laura (Therrien) Smith. He graduated from B.M.C. Durfee High, class of 1979. For 10 years he was a truck driver for TOCO and for several years he worked in Trina’s shipping department. Billy, a member of Benevolent Order of Elks Lodge #118 and avid reader, also enjoyed hockey, bowling and casino trips. Billy was an avid Boston Bruins supporter. His four siblings are Karen Geary and Brian Smith of Fall River; Colleen Kaemkeridis, her husband John, of Hanson; Cathleen Genereau, her husband Daniel, of Lakeville. He also has five nieces: Brianne Lauren Kelsey Laura and Elizabeth, as well as his lifelong companion Laurie Rebello, of Westport. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday April 4th, 2023, at 10 AM at the Waring Sullivan home at Cherry Place at 178 Winter St. in Fall River. Private burial will take place. Visitation will be held on Monday, from 5:00 PM to 8:00PM.
