Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Lea (Thibodeau) Provost. She was educated in the Salem School System and married Richard, the love of her life in 1948. Following her marriage, Rita dedicated her life to her family and creating a welcoming home. She was a hard-working, meticulous woman who took pride in her family, home, and appearance. She was a stunning and gracious woman who had many interests, including cooking, photography, golfing, bowling, fishing, dancing, and singing, (especially her rendition of “Happy Birthday”). She was also a self-taught pianist and enjoyed playing bingo with her brother Bob at the Senior Center. In her later years, Rita loved dining out with family and friends. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity towards anyone who crossed her path. A beautiful person inside and out, she will be missed by many.
Rita is survived by her four children, Linda R. Workman and husband Douglas of Groveland, Edward R. Hudson and wife Johnetta of Methuen, David B. Hudson of Milton, N.H., Susan M. Young and husband Richard of Waddell, Ariz., daughter-in-law, Paula Hudson of Barnstead, N.H.; her twin brothers, Robert Provost of Salem and Richard Provost of Zephyr Hills, Fla.
