Phoebe H. Goulkin of Leominster and formerly of Newburyport, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2023 at 81 years of age.
Beloved mother of Cheryl Pouliot and her husband Richard of Shrewsbury, David Goulkin and his wife Faith of Leominster, Pamela Penna and her husband Glenn of Shrewsbury, and Aaron Goulkin and his wife Angela of Fitchburg. Cherished grandmother of Jonathan, Matthew, Zachary, Seth, Reis, Jared, Alexis, Arianna, Timmy, Jonathan, Bryant, Samantha, Magali, and Kevin. Great grandmother to Madeline. Sister of Karen Baker and her husband D. Barry Baker, Elliot Satenstein, her late twin Phillip Satenstein and his wife Ellen Krafton. Sister-in-law and lifelong friend, Sybil Goulkin. Former loving wife of the late Theodore J. Goulkin. Proud aunt of many nieces and nephews. The family that Phoebe leaves behind would include so many dear friends as well, all of whom would count themselves as family too.
Phoebe was born in Malden on September 23, 1941. Growing up near Hodgies during her youth turned her into the ice cream lover that she became so well known for throughout her entire life. As a school bus driver for over 40 years, Phoebe would often be approached in public with love and hugs from former students and families who remembered her care and her spunk as their driver. Nothing brought Phoebe as much happiness as the times she spent with her grandchildren, most of which could be described as fun and wild adventures. In her retirement years, Phoebe returned to the ocean where she joined a vibrant community who instantly fell in love with her. At the Jack Satter House in Revere, she joined bocci and cornhole teams, participated in the choir, walked the beach, and played many games of Rummikub. Phoebe’s precious last months were spent in Shrewsbury, surrounded by her loving family and friends, sprinkled with joy, laughter, love, and happiness.
