Hampton – Mark E. Ruddock, age…

Hampton – Mark E. Ruddock, age 59, of Hampton, N.H., died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, June 7, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen (Whitmore) Ruddock, who died on November 15, 2005 and a loving father to his son Ryan Ruddock and daughter, Kristen Ruddock.
Born in Lynn, Mass. on October 11, 1961, Mark was the son of the late Charles E. and Virginia (Dorion) Ruddock. Mark graduated from Peabody High School and then attended Westpoint Military Academy where he was a defenseman for Westpoint's Division 1 hockey team.
Mark served with the United States Army Reserves and Massachusetts National Guard until he was released due to Service connected disability. For over 30 years, he was the Grocery Manager at Stop & Shop in Amesbury, where he was known by his customers and co-workers for his lively stories, unmatched sarcasm, and ability to make anyone laugh. Mark spent many years coaching his son Ryan's hockey teams while wearing his "Cheer Dad" shirt with pride to support his daughter Kristen. Like his parents Charles and Ginny, he would never miss a sporting event for either of his children.
Mark shared a love of cooking with his children and family. Every phone call began with "Did you watch the Bruins?" and "What did you have for dinner?". Mark would always ask whether you made it from scratch and whether you used all the secret spices and ingredients. You knew that Mark genuinely cared about you when he insisted on sharing a home cooked meal, including his famous chowder and pulled pork. Mark loved his children Kristen and Ryan and his late wife, Kathy more than anything and would always beam with pride when given the opportunity to talk about his children's accomplishments.
He leaves behind a lifetime of unforgettable memories to his son, Ryan Ruddock and companion Cassandra Harding; his daughter Kristen Ruddock and companion Robbie Hillson; his two brothers, David Ruddock and wife Cindy and Gary Ruddock; his sister, Merri Norton and husband Leo, along with many loving nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends. He will be sadly missed by them all.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Mark E. Ruddock to Lucy's Love Bus.
