Gloucester – Dennis W. Sargent, 74, of Gloucester, passed away at his home on Friday, October 16, 2020.
Denny was born in Gloucester on June 23, 1946 and was the son of the late Ralph and Eleanor (Emero) Sargent. He graduated from Gloucester High School and worked for many years as a maintenance man at Gorton's of Gloucester, Quincy Cold Storage, O'Donnell-Usen Fisheries and Varian until his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing and was proud of the enormous striper he had caught. He loved being a member of the Gloucester Elks and was extremely proud to have gone through the chairs and eventually become the exalted ruler.
He is survived by his sister, Bonnie Hiroshima and her husband, Guy of California. Dennis is also survived by his godfather, James Dort and his wife Jackie and several cousins and his many friends.
His graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester at 11 a.m. Face coverings and social distancing will be required. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to The American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
