Gloucester – Marion Elizabeth …

Gloucester – Marion Elizabeth (Tracy) King passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. As a woman of faith, Marion was kind, caring and generous. She truly enjoyed doing things for others and the community. Marion whole-heartedly loved and received much joy from her family, her extended lobster fishing family, and her many dear friends. She was quick to share her favorite pictures and tell stories of those she cared about. Nothing was more contagious than her good ole belly laugh and smile!
Marion was the devoted wife of the late Alfred G. King Jr, and loving mother to Gordon King (predeceased), Tracy King, Donald King, Susan (King) Symmes and son-in-law Jeffrey Symmes. She is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Marion was born in Rockland, Maine to the late Charles and Charlena (Wilson) Tracy on July 14, 1931. She graduated from Rockland High School and worked as a laboratory technician in Springfield, MA where she met her husband Al. Marion and Al owned and managed King & Sons Fishing Company for 25 years. Marion enjoyed her time with their many employees, boat crews and families.
Some people in life make you laugh a little louder, smile a little brighter and live a little bit better – that was Marion! Kind acts made her happy and her wish was that kindness carries on. In lieu of flowers, please do something nice for someone.
Honoring Marion’s wishes, services will be held privately.
