Gloucester – Jennie M. Interrante, 83, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2020, at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born in Gloucester on May 17, 1937, the daughter of the late Gaspar and Rose (Friscia) Interrante and remained a lifelong resident.
Jennie was employed as a fish packer at Seafood Kitchens for many years. Later she transitioned to Rule Industries as an assembler. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and gambling at various casinos. Jennie was an avid “Bostonian” sports fan, and especially a huge follower of the Boston Red Sox. Jennie adored her family which she hosted at Sunday morning coffee gatherings. She also enjoyed camping trips to Maine with all of her nieces, nephews and extended family. At these events it typically lead to her famous words, “It’s none of my business, but…”
She was an active parishioner of Holy Family Parish and a member of the Seafarer’s International Union. Jennie treasured her Friday nights when she was socializing and playing cards with her sister Catherine, her brother-in-law Phil and close friend Sophie.
Jennie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A special thank you goes out to her caregivers Heidi and Mary Jane.
She is survived by three brothers, James Interrante, Gaspar Interrante, Samuel Interrante and his wife Joanne, all of Gloucester; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews as well as many cousins.
Jennie was predeceased by her twin sister, Catherine Curcuru and her husband Phil; four brothers Charles Interrante and his wife Phyllis, Joseph “Popeye” Interrante, John Interrante and his wife Betty and Anthony Interrante; two sisters-in-laws, Mary Interrante and Sarah Interrante, and four nephews.

Her visiting hours will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 25, at the Greely Funeral Home. Mass will be held privately due to COVID-19 restrictions. Her graveside services will be at Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester, at 11 a.m. All attendees are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Holy Family Parish or the Rose Baker Senior Center.
