Gloucester – Linda J. Hill, 64, of Gloucester, passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, September 7, 2020, at her home.
She was born in Gloucester on January 16, 1956, and was the daughter of the late William and Marilyn (Miller) Strescino. She graduated from Gloucester High School and took a course in caregiving and worked for years as a private duty caregiver.
Before she was housebound due to health issues, she was a cribbage player and belonged to many cribbage clubs. She enjoyed shopping, for anything and everything, and enjoyed QVC when she could not get around. She loved taking rides to view flower gardens, and absolutely loved her best friend “Brody,” a black cocker spaniel. Linda adored her family and friends and will be missed immensely.
She is survived by her daughter, Shannon Hill; her son, Matthew Hill; her sister Joanne Joseph and her fiancé, Glenn Hoysradt; nephews, Philip Joseph and his wife Lauren, Bryan Joseph and his wife, Melissa and their son, Bryan Joseph; brother-in-law Phil Joseph; a very close cousin, Marilyn Blaisdell and her son Shaun; and her best friend Denise Kimmence. She was predeceased by her parents as well as her fiancé Daniel Rowe Sr., a Vietnam veteran.
A graveside service will be held in Calvary Cemetery on Friday, September 11, 2020, at 12 p.m. Masks and social distancing are required. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to: American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, or Cape Ann Animal Aid, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930.
