Danvers – Mr. Roger E. Talbot, 79, of Danvers, beloved husband of Joan (Mather) Talbot, died January 3, 2020, at the Bedford Veterans Care Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Rene and Helen M. (Sirois) Talbot. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of St. John’s Preparatory School, class of 1958. He continued his education later in life earning his associate degree in Applied Science from Newbury College in 1978.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Army.
Upon return from service to his country, Mr. Talbot began a long and distinguished career with the United States Postal Service, retiring as a supervisor following many years of dedicated care to his profession.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Roger was devoted to his family. A longtime resident of the Town of Danvers, he was a member of the National Association of Postal Supervisors. Above all else family always came first. He was a devoted husband to his life long love and best friend Joan and a dedicated father who took great pride in the accomplishments of all his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joan (Mather) Talbot of Danvers; his daughter, Rebecca Wheaton and her husband Jim of North Billerica; his twin sons, Brian Talbot of Lorton, Va., and Michael Talbot and his wife Ashley of Greenville, S.C.; his seven grandchildren, Peter, Victoria, Alyssa, Charlotte, Kelsey, Madison, Amber; and one great-grandchild, Bradley; his sister, Anne Dinsmore and her husband Jeffrey of Peabody; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. He was the brother of the late Yvonne M. Talbot.

His funeral services were privately held. Burial in Wadsworth Cemetery, Danvers. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St. (Route 62), Danvers.
