Gloucester – Virginia (Clark) Hilshey, 93, of Gloucester, passed away Sunday evening, June 2, 2019, at Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Gloucester. She was the devoted wife of the late Raymond H. Hilshey. Born in Gloucester, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Marian (Martin) Clark. Virginia was raised and educated in Gloucester and a graduate of Gloucester High School with the class of 1943.
Mrs. Hilshey had been employed as an Account Manager for AT&T for 30 years until her retirement in 1988. A lifelong resident of Gloucester, she was a member of the Elks Lodge #892 in Gloucester, the AT&T Pioneers Club, and the Gloucester Women’s Club. She was a wonderful cook and well known for her delicious pies. She also enjoyed yard sales, watching her beloved Red Sox, and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving Virginia are two sons, Raymond H. Hilshey and his wife Mary Alice of Gloucester and Richard C. Hilshey and his wife Nancy of Gloucester; four grandchildren, Victoria, Rachel, Luke, and Ryan Hilshey; and one brother, Donnie Clark and his companion Eleanor McKechnie of Gloucester. She was also predeceased by her sister, Esther Laine; her brother, Robert Clark; two sisters-in-law, Page Clark and Gaetane Clark; her brother-in-law, Rudolph Laine; and special nephew Rudy Laine.

Her funeral service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester, on Friday, June 7, 2019, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester. A visiting hour will be held prior to the service on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.
