Danvers, MA – Bettina “Betty” Page (Shaw) Brown, 93, of Beverly, Mass., beloved wife of the late Robert S. Brown, died on Thurs., April 18, 2019. Born in Brockton, Mass., the daughter of the late Maynard and Rena (Lewis) Shaw, she was raised in Foxboro and Sharon, then lived in Danvers for over 50 years.
Betty graduated from Burdett College in Boston and worked as a secretary in the Admissions office at New England Conservatory of Music where she met her husband. She later worked for her husband, assisting with the scheduling of the bands for his musical business.
Betty loved spending time with her family. She loved music, played the piano and gave piano lessons. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, Sunday School teacher, and was a member (and ringer) of the “Boston Baked Beans” dart team. Her skills advanced them to the championship. She also enjoyed spending winters in Fort Myers, Fla.
She is survived by her son, Robert Brown Jr. of Effingham, N.H.; and three daughters, Pamela Harrison and her partner, George Babey of New Britain, Conn., Susan Gebow and her husband Scott of Rowley, and Deborah Slowick and her husband Joseph of Westford; seven grandchildren, Tonya Armitage and Robert Brown III, Michael and Tyler Harrison, and Ryan, Emily and Sarah Gebow; three great-grandchildren, Robert IV, Ruby and Jackson. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Francis Brown and his wife Barbara of Malden; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at Mackey Family Home, 128 S. Main Street, Route 114, Middleton, on Wed., April 24, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 1 p.m. Burial will take place immediately following at St. Mary of the Annunciation Cemetery in Danvers.
