Evelyn K. Weber

Evelyn K. (Farrell) Weber died at home of natural causes on April 7, 2019. She was the wife of the late Alfred Weber and the daughter of the late Laurence P. and Margaret K. (Creevan) Farrell. She was born in Washington, D.C., where her mother was secretary to Congressman William P. Connery, on April 23, 1924.

She leaves her children, Alfred J. Weber and his wife Margie of Reading, Pa., Nicholas J. Weber and his wife Robin of Southbridge, Mary W. Sarris of Lynn, and Mark E. Weber and his wife Cathie of San Bernardino, Calif. She was predeceased by her son Charles L. Weber. She also leaves her siblings, Dorothy Cabe of Hawaii, Janet McGovern and Eileen Keating of Swampscott, Laurence Farrell of Lynn, and Sharon Fleury of Whitman. She was predeceased by her siblings James, Nancy, Joan, and Mary. She leaves nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Girls High School, Class of 1941, and of the Fisher School. She served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

She left instructions that she was to be remembered primarily as a mother and homemaker, but also worked for many years at Eastern Bank in Lynn. She was an accomplished seamstress, making clothes for herself and her daughter, as well as sewing on more Scout Badges than can be counted. She volunteered for many years at Union Hospital and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.

Service information: Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in the World War II Veterans Lot at Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
