LYNN — Mr. Antonio “Tony” Scotina, 98 years, of Lynn, died on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 in a local nursing home after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Lillian L. (Roy) Scotina.

He was born in Swampscott, the son of the late Luigi and Lucia (Marcocci) Scotina. He attended Swampscott schools. Mr. Scotina lived in Lynn most of his life.

He was a WWII Army veteran. He served as a military policeman in the American and the European-African theaters of Operation. He loved to walk and loved gardening. He was employed at the General Electric Company in Lynn as a production follower. He retired in 1985 after 37 years with GE. He was a wonderful and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his children, James Scotina and his wife Janice of Lynn, Donna Sideris of Athens, Greece, Raymond Scotina and his wife Robin of Lynn, Antonio “Tony” Scotina and his wife Natalia Oliveira of Lynn; his grandchildren, Vangelis Sideris, Tony Sideris, James Scotina Jr., Anthony Scotina, Dylan Scotina, Natasha Oliveira and Alex Oliveira; his great-grandchildren, Panagiotis, Kostintinos and Hector. He also leaves a brother, Daniel Scotina of Lynnfield; and several nieces and nephews. He is the brother of the late Angelina DeVecchis, Adeline Mazola, Guerino and Alfred Scotina.

Service information: His funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
