Joan C. Francke, 87, passed away March 12 peacefully at her home in Duxbury. She was the loving wife of the late Hugo Francke.
Joan was a resident of Duxbury for the past
65 years. After a long career as a case manager, she enjoyed volunteering at the Duxbury Senior Center. She had a love for Duxbury beach, travel, animals and her family (not necessarily in that order).
She was predeceased by her husband Hugo Francke, Sr. and her son Hugo Francke, Jr. Joan was the loving mother of Heidi Francke of Boston, H. Gilbert Francke of North Carolina, Julie
Veach of Ohio, Amy McCullough of North Carolina, Jon C. Francke of Washington, D.C., Eric W. Francke of Plymouth, Lucy E. Francke of Duxbury and Wendy Francke of California. Sister of Ruth Handel of Florida, Janet Crowley of Hanson, Rosemary Cook of Pembroke, and Mary Ellen Mitz of California. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Family Church, Tremont Street, Duxbury on April 5 at 1 p.m.
