LYNN — Anthony S. Zaffiro, 72, of Lynn, died peacefully early Saturday morning surrounded by his family at Salem Hospital following a courageous longtime battle against cancer. He was the devoted husband of Karen (Gignac) Zaffiro, with whom he shared more than 50 years of marriage.
Born in Everett, he was the son of the late Sebastino and Antonina (Paratore) Zaffiro. He was raised and educated in Everett and was a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1964. He later lived in Malden and has spent the last 44 years living in Lynn.
Anthony was employed for more than 25 years as a cost analyst for RCA/GE in Burlington until his retirement due to his illness.
Anthony enjoyed his summers on the beach in Ogunquit, Maine, with his family and friends, and he also enjoyed boating and snow mobiling as well. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was always attending their sporting events.
Besides his loving wife, Anthony is survived by his son, Michael Zaffiro of Seabrook, N.H.; his daughter and son-in-law, Karla and Gary Wilson of Lynn; his beloved two grandchildren, Tyler and Lauren Wilson; and by many cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his sister Dianne Howard.
Service information: Following cremation, family and friends can gather on Thursday at 5 p.m. at the CONWAY, CAHILL-BRODUER Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by his funeral service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial services will be private.
