Pat was an executive assistant at Marin Braver Company in Newton until she retired in 2010. Pat was happiest when she was in her kitchen, cooking delicious recipes and holiday feasts for her large family, or taking care of the family dog, Sylvia. Pat was the loving mother to Karen Hurley of Metheun, Maureen Hurley and her wife Mary Ann O’Hara of Dedham, and Kimberly Hurley, of Trumball, Conn. Pat was predeceased by her daughter Carolyn “Lynn” Hurley Neill of Lowell; and her son James M. Hurley Jr. of Dedham.
She leaves her brother D. Albert “Albie” Mitchell Jr. and his wife Theresa. She also leaves her brother, Paul Mitchell, and his wife, Ann; and her brother, Robert Mitchell, all from Gloucester. She was the loving nana to David Jr., Mathew and his wife, Michelle, and Katherine Olsen; Carolyn Neill; Kelsey and Laurie Cusack; Elizabeth O’Hara Hurley and Tristan Morton. She was the proud great-grandmother of Hailey, Madison, and Riley. She also leaves many friends and extended family member. Pat was a stepdaughter to LaRayne Hill of Gloucester, and step-sister to Sandra, Jack, and Beverly Hill.
Pat’s funeral service was held in Dedham, Mass., on October 12. Pat will be remembered at a Mass on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 52 Main St., in Essex, Mass., at 10 a.m. All of her family and friends are invited to attend.
