West Newbury – Donald H. Miller, 87, died at his home in West Newbury on May 24, 2018. He was born on February 25, 1931, in Medford, Mass., to the late Howard and Florence Miller. Donald was raised in Medford, graduated from Medford High School, and attended Tufts University before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force where he served our country proudly during the Korean War.
Donald married his wife Edith in September, 1972. In 1978, they settled in West Newbury.
He was employed as a draftsman at Chesterton in Groveland for over 20 years until his retirement in 1997. Donald enjoyed watching the Red Sox, participating in his work bowling league, and was very involved with Boy Scout Troop 26.
Donald is survived by his wife Edith (George) Miller of West Newbury; sons, Stephen Miller and his wife Ruth of Germany, and Gary Miller of West Newbury; grandchildren, Elena and Vanessa Miller; sister, Eleanor Elliott of Wakefield, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Howard Miller and Lucille Calhoun.
Family and friends may call Tuesday, May 29, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral home at 193 High Street, in Newburyport. His funeral service will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, in the funeral home followed by burial at Bridge Street Cemetery in West Newbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Donald’s name to the Museum of Science in Boston.
