Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Putnam and Mildred (Gates) Swinnerton. She was raised and educated in Danvers and attended the former Holten High School, class of 1954, in Danvers.
Sue had been employed with the Middleton School Department at Fuller Meadow School and the Howe-Manning School as the school secretary until the time of her retirement.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Sue enjoyed spending her time gardening and traveling. She was always up for an adventure to some of her favorite places. She was an excellent cook and in her younger years enjoyed knitting and was an excellent seamstress. Family always came first; she was active in her children’s activities and was a Girl Scout troop leader many years ago. She loved traveling with her family throughout the years and always had a smile on her face. She is remembered fondly by anyone she came in contact with, especially the Middleton school community of students, parents and faculty, and her many friends. She loved her family and will be truly missed.
Sue is survived by her three daughters, Linda S. Goodale of Beverly, Donna Goodale Cavallo of Edgartown and Beth Ann MacRae and her husband Edward of Middleton; her grandchildren, Melanie Tasca of S. Boston, Kayleigh Boynton of Sharon, Alexander Furth of Beverly, Andrew Furth of Gloucester; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John Swinerton and the late Paul Swinnerton, and mother-in-law of Thomas Furth and the late Robert Cavallo.
