Lynn, MA – Stephen P. Hooley of Lynn, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly on April 17, 2018 at the age of 55.
Steve was born on May 13, 1962 in Salem to the late Francis and Sheila ( Harrington) Hooley. He was also predeceased by his brother Mark Hooley.
Steve was raised in Salem and was a graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School in Peabody. He worked for many years as a CDL driver for multiple businesses.
Steve was a lover of nature and regularly participated in a number of outdoor activities, most notably fishing and camping. He had developed an affinity for gardening. He was a sports enthusiast having played football, baseball, basketball throughout his youth. He was an avid collector of sports memorabilia, which he shared with his nephews.
His heart has always been yielded to compassion and generosity towards all people, an outcome of a special bond he shared with his mother.
He is survived by his sister and brothers, Sheila McElroy and her husband Skip of Saugus, Frank Hooley and his wife Debbie of Derry, NH and Larry Hooley of Winthrop.
He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Brendan, Ryan, Erin, Connor, Max, Shannon, Morgen and Brian.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday May 4, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Murphy Funeral Home, located on 85 Federal St. Salem. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM at the Murphy Funeral Home and burial will be held at St Mary’s Cemetery, located at 226 North St. Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Red Sox Jimmy Fund or My Brother’s Table in Lynn, MA.
