Madeline’s family was her main love and focus of her life. She was well known for her baking, especially her famous Christmas cookies, hosting family functions and sewing clothes and doll clothes for gifts. Madeline loved making others happy, whether it be volunteering for her grandchildren’s school functions or baking and cooking for her church group. She enjoyed being an Avon representative for several years. She worked at several convenience stores in her neighborhood, and people loved to see her smile in the early morning. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, her infectious smile and warm demeanor will be missed by all who knew her.
Her legacy will be lived on by her sister Isabel Lowe of Florida; her children Marlene Hodgkins and husband David of Kansas, Frank B. Parsons Jr. and wife Baohon of Gloucester, Merilee DeSantis and husband Bob of Salem, and Lynette Costa and husband Tim of Gloucester; her grandchildren, Barry Hodgkins, April (Hodgkins) Jacobson, Bryan Hodgkins, Ben Parsons, and their spouses, Brad DeSantis, Jennifer (DeSantis) Fisher and Crystal Costa. She also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
