Danvers – Camil Daniel Ghiu, Ph.D., 48, died suddenly on March 31, 2018, in New Hampshire. He was the beloved husband of Ioana (Taunean) Ghiu with whom they shared 20 years of marriage.
Born in Romania on August 24, 1969, he was the son of the late Gheorghe and Camelia (Avram) Ghiu. Camil was raised and educated in Romania and moved to the United States in 1999. He lived in Maryland and Georgia and received his doctorate of philosophy from Georgia Institute of Technology. Camil and his family have resided in Danvers for the past nine years. He was a devoted father and loving husband. His family was everything to him.
In addition to his wife, Ioana, he is survived by his two sons, Mark Daniel and Sebastian Adrian Ghiu; and his sister, Silvana Melania Ghiu.
His funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Sylvan St., Danvers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
