    Miss DeLai was born in Carmingnano di Brenta, Italy, November 7, 1927, a daughter of Agostino and Margherita (Dalla-Via) DeLai and moved to the United States at the age of 7 years. She grew up in Fitchburg and was a 1945 graduate of Fitchburg High School. For nearly 30 years Miss DeLai worked as a data processor at General Electric Company in Fitchburg, retiring in 1987. She attended the Madonna of the Holy Rosary Church and was a member of the Fitchburg Golden Age Club, Fitchburg Booster Club and the General Electric Retired Women’s Club.
