LYNN — Mr. Robert A. Auger, 79 years old, of Lynn, died on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House after a long illness. He is the husband of Mrs. Nicoletta (Tedesco) Auger.
He was born in Plainfield, Conn., the son of the late Leo Auger and the son of the late Melina (Goulet) Auger. He was raised in East Boston and attended schools there. He has lived in Lynn since 1969.
Mr. Auger was a peacetime Navy veteran. He served as a Scout Master for many years. He was a member of the Saugus River Yacht Club. He enjoyed cooking and baking. However, his greatest joy was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was employed as a welder and later an assembler for the General Electric Company in Lynn. He was also a member of IUE Local 201 in Lynn. He also owned with his late son Albert, the R and A. Shuttle Service for 10 years.
In addition to his wife with whom he shared 58 years of marriage he leaves his children, Patricia Green of Dover, N.H., Sherie Auger of Lynn, Louanne Auger of Saugus, William Auger of Seabrook, N.H., and Nicolas Auger and his wife Jacqueline of Seabrook, N.H.; 13 grandchildren, Julie Anne Green, Jennifer Green, Amber Auger, Anthony Auger, Justin Green, Ashley Auger, Nicolas Auger Jr., Corey Lee, Jessica Green, Angela Auger, Alexander Auger, Jared Auger and Alisia Ortiz; he also leaves 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Auger and his wife Patricia of Brooksville, Fla.; and four nieces. He is the father of the late Albert J. Auger.
Service information: His funeral will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. (Route 1A), Lynn. Burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Boston. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
