Norma M. Laterza, 94, of Lynn, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 2, 2017. She was born on December 28, 1922, in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Attilio and Alice (Matrona) Capra. She was raised and educated in New Bedford and Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1941. Norma graduated from the Burdett School of Business and went on to work for several years as an administrative assistant for GE in Lynn. She left work to stay home and raise her three daughters. Norma loved music and was a talented piano player who enjoyed entertaining the troops with the USO. Norma was predeceased by her husband, Frank V. Laterza. She is survived by her three daughters, Elaine and Ronald Pare of Salem, Linda and Roger Wilkinson of Stratham, N.H., and Paula and Brian Santapaula of Lynn; brother, Attilio “Bud” Capra of Danvers; as well as seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. There are no visitation hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 26 Bessom Street in Lynn. Please meet the family at church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home.
