Richard W. Almy, Ayer

Richard W. AlmyMr. Almy was born in Ayer, December 3, 1941, a son of Warren O. and Louisa C. (Davis) Almy and resided in Pepperell and Shirley before moving to Ayer 48 years ago. He was a graduate of Ayer High School.

He leaves his wife of 48 years, Marie E. (O’Connell) Almy; a son, Sean P. Almy of Southboro; a daughter, Julie M. Almy of Ayer; a sister, Rhoda L. Dow of Shirley and two grandchildren, Alexis Almy and Olivia Almy.

For several years Mr. Almy worked as the bartender at the Townsend VFW. Prior to that he worked as a salesperson for Bradford & Heard Insurance Company in Shirley.

He enjoyed playing horsehoes and going to the beach. He was an avid NASCAR enthusiast and very much enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his dog, Colby.


Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
