Gertrude A. Salvadore, 98, formerly of Willow Street in South Lee, died Tuesday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield. She was born in Springfield, Ohio on September 9, 1916 the daughter of William and Gertrude Arnold Corcoran. Her family moved to Lee when she was 12 years of age. She was educated in the Lee Schools. Following graduation from Lee High School she attended Berkshire Business College. She was a local artist (Portraits and Landscapes) studying under the late Leo Blake in the 1930’s. During WWll she worked at the General Electric in Pittsfield Her husband Virgilio P. Salvadore whom she married in April of 1943 died July 18, 1987. She leaves her two sons William E. Salvadore and his wife Dianne of Enfield, CT and Michael P. Salvadore of Pittsfield, her two grandchildren Brian and Matthew Salvadore, a sister in law Mary Corcoran and several nieces and nephews. A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Gertrude Salvadore will be on Friday at 10 AM at St. Joseph’s Church in Stockbridge. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Stockbridge. Visiting hours will be on Friday morning from 8:30 until 9:30 at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee.
