William Baker

Topsfield – William Lee Baker of Topsfield, MA, beloved husband of Rosemary (McCue) with whom he shared 50 years of marriage, died peacefully on November 5, 2014 surrounded by his family. Born in Lynn, MA in 1941, Bill graduated from Saint Mary’s High School in Lynn. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College and a Juris Doctorate from Boston University. He was employed by W.R. Grace and Co. as a patent attorney for more than 30 years before his retirement. Bill adored his children and grandchildren, and was an avid fan at all their sporting events and activities. He enjoyed spending his free time playing tennis and platform tennis, golfing, and gardening with Rose. He will truly be missed by his loving family and friends He was the loving father of Karen Johnson and her husband Paul of Topsfield, Amy Mandragouras and her husband Paul of Boxford, Cheryl Piacentini and her husband Michael of Topsfield, and Brian Baker and his wife Jennifer of Topsfield. Cherished “Grampy” of Audrey, Erin, Peter, William, Kelly, Thomas, Olivia, Anthony, and Allison. Son of the late John E. and Margaret (Fitzgerald) Baker of Lynn. Brother of Jean Riley and her husband Richard of Newburyport, the late John Baker and his wife Patricia of Boxford, Robert Baker and his wife Nancy of Lynn, Elizabeth Cashman and her late husband James formerly of Lynn, Richard Baker and his wife Debbie of Lynn, Gary Baker of Danvers, and Keith Baker and his wife Marianne of Danvers. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the St. Rose of Lima Church, 12 Park Street, Topsfield, Monday, November 10, 2014 at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Sunday from 1-5 pm. Burial in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield.
