U.S. Army veteran, carpenter LYNN — Mr. William R. “Bill” Tranfaglia, Sr., age 86, of Lynn, died on Saturday, March 17, 2012 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Lynn, son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Feste) Tranfaglia. After attending Lynn Schools and Graduating from Lynn Classical High School, Bill served in the US Army in Europe during WWII. A lifelong Lynn resident, Bill was a self-employed mason, carpenter and homebuilder working for several area contractors and homeowners throughout the North Shore. He also worked for a number of years at the General Electric Co. in Lynn and RC Griffin Construction, Lynn. In retirement, Bill worked as a school lunch aide, with his wife as his boss. Bill enjoyed Bingo, Bowling and Dancing. Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louella “Sis” (Ellis) Tranfaglia. His children, Donna M. Demirai of Peabody, William R. Tranfaglia, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Virginia and Michael J. Tranfaglia and his wife Susan of Lynn. His sister, Gloria D’Ambrosio of Lynn. He has seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was also Brother of the late Josephine Coolberth, Mary Fuller, Angelina Estes, Charles J. Tranfaglia, and Fred “Ralph” Tranfaglia.
