Roger L. Vezina, age 79, passed away on Feb. 14, 2017 at the Jewish Nursing Home in Longmeadow. He was born on July 2, 1937 in Worcester, MA, a son of the late Gerard and Simone (Tessier) Vezina. Roger graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester, MA and attended L.A. City College. He is a veteran of the Navy. He was employed by the Barker Chadsey Company in Cape Cod for several years before he moved to Ossipee, NH in 1975. He owned and operated the Hearth “N” Pine Restaurant with his wife Marie for 21 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Marie (Lareau) Vezina of Chicopee; his children, Marc Vezina and his wife Lani Chun of San Francisco, CA and Craig Vezina and his wife Iva of St Nom la Breteche, France. He is predeceased by his daughter Amy Vezina, who passed away in 2014. He leaves his sister Julie Clark and her husband Jerry Rudnick, of Delray Beach, FL; brother Robert Vezina of Lakeshore, FL and is predeceased by his brother Richard Vezina. Roger leaves 10 beloved granddaughters Cassidy, Seneca, Mabel, Juliette, Vita, Tia, Mila, Lana, Alexis and Sydney. He also leaves his sisters-in-law Sr. Carol Lareau S.S.J., of Chicopee, MA, Theresa Goodrich of Webster, MA, Jean Vezina of Oxford, MA, and Pauline Lareau of Rochdale, MA, along with several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He loved Golf, Basketball, old movies and especially loved his family. His family would like to extend a special thank you to Sr. Carol Lareau S.S.J., Sr., Jeanne O’Shea, S.S.J., Cassidy Vezina and the Sisters of Saint Joseph for the help, support and prayers they had given. They would also like to thank the VA – CBOC and Baystate VNA for all of their professionalism and kindness shown to Roger. All services will be private at the convenience of the family.
